We’re pleased to write this well-deserved review for a moving company comprised of wonderful employees! Deciding to relocate from our WI home of 40 years to CO was exciting yet scary. However, from the moment my husband and I agreed on Capital City/Wheaton, we knew we chose the right company to help us move. Scott White, aka ‘Scooter’, Director of Operations/Sales, was extraordinary (and the reason we chose this company). He was in constant contact with us…was encouraging and always made himself available to us…that was important to us as we had lots of questions and concerns. Scooter worked hard on our estimate and came to our home more than once to adjust and review as we did some of our own packing for our home and shop. His estimate was right on and less than expected. The day of moving arrived and we were impressed with the group of professional moving crews ‘Scooter’ sent. They were professional, courteous and careful loading all of our precious belongings. Bob Kukrecht was our outstanding professional driver, responsible for transporting our belongings cross-country. He took great care of our possessions and constantly communicated; even while being detained in snow and icy conditions in the mountains. The moving crews who unloaded and helped us place our furniture and boxes were also efficient, polite and gentle with our belongings. Three years ago we moved with Capitol City Transfer and were thrilled with the service we received. Today, I called back to get some information about the actual weight of the shipment. Not only did they have the paperwork on hand, but they e-mailed it to me later the same day. I was (and am) delighted with their service.
Most Professional and Easiest Move
Capital City Transfers handled our recent move from Madison to Beloit. We’d moved many times in the past and we have had decent experiences with every move. But this one was the most professional and easiest move we’ve ever done. Scott did the estimate, which came in hundreds of dollars cheaper than the two competitive bids (and the final cost was cheaper than the bid). We borrowed moving boxes at no cost from the company, and we rented wardrobe boxes the day of the move for $5 each. Tom oversaw two young men in the loading and unloading of what turned out to be a very full truck. These movers were highly professional, polite, and helpful. Both days they arrived on time and worked diligently. Scott even held onto a piece of furniture to send to my sister on the West Coast in the next truck headed that way for a price about half what UPS quoted to me a couple of years ago. That shipment went smoothly too. Whether it's moving from house to house or shipping a single piece of furniture, I can’t recommend this company highly enough.
5 stars is not enough!
By far the best, 5 stars is not enough!!!! Fast service, they were here before the expected date kept in contact with us prior to our delivery. Very thorough and detailed, and so careful with our items (china, hand carved furniture and the likes). Charles and Gail are very, very good at what they do and they are just the nicest people you could meet!! We would definitely choose them again for our moving needs!!!
Moved from Memphis to Madison
Capital City is amazing. 2 1/2 years ago they moved me from Memphis to Madison. The experience was so great that when I bought a house I called them to pack and move me. I highly recommend them.
Moved from New York to Madison, Wisconsin
Capitol City moved us from New York to Madison, Wisconsin. They were terrific! I couldn't have asked for anything more from a moving company. Scooter was in constant contact with me and spoke the truth when he said the move would go smoothly. He was easy to get a hold of through email and phone calls for questions, of which I had more than a few. Scooter made me feel like I was family, not just another sale. Bob and Nancy, who did the physical move, were fabulous. Like Scooter, they kept me well informed through the entire moving process. The guys Bob had helping, both in New York and in Madison, were amazing. No sitting down on the job for them. They were constantly moving. And they were very careful with each box and piece of furniture. And above that, they were professional, polite, and respectful. I did quite a bit of research before picking a moving company. All the companies were in the same ballpark for price. But Capital City knocked it out of the park for service. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone moving within the state or cross country. Great experience all the way around.
BEST in the business!
These guys have to be the BEST in the business! They were thorough about what to expect, polite, and "gentle" with our belongings. Every single employee we met at both locations (moved from Wisconsin to Arizona) was very knowledgable and experienced. We especially enjoyed working with Scott--and Wheaton/Capital City Transfer lived up to all his promises! Thanks to Tom, Matt, Max and Matt (the Wisconsin team) and to Mike, Ken and Bob (Arizona team) for a great job and a pleasant moving experience.
